For Beef, Chicken, and Pork:
Keep the protein in its original packaging and place it on a dish or in a bowl in the fridge the night before you plan to cook. Standard cuts (steaks, breasts, chops) typically take 24 hours to thaw. Larger roasts may require 24 hours per 4 pounds.
For Seafood:
Remove the seafood from its original packaging and place it on a plate or in a bowl in the refrigerator. Unlike meat, seafood should be thawed outside of its vacuum seal for the best results.
Quick Tip: Occasionally, packaging may develop small tears during shipping. This doesn't affect the quality of your meat, but placing your items on a dish while thawing will catch any excess liquid.
